As a Work Preparator-Planner you work on-site at one of our customers (on the Shell Pernis site). You represent the customer and place orders and spare part requests for pump repairs with our internal Work Preparator who arranges our in-house activities. You are responsible for the planning and work preparation for all on-site activities.

You coordinate between the client and our Quick Response Center in Hulst where overhaul and repair work is carried out. You work very closely with the customer to jointly increase the reliability of equipment and reduce repairs (and therefore costs). In this position you can be deployed at any Flowserve customer. We therefore expect willingness to travel up to about 60 minutes between home and work. To kick off your career at Flowserve, we have a position lined up for you at a producer of plastics and composites at the Shell location in Pernis (with no fixed end date; at least for the coming years).

Your role

  • Determine on-site which works are to be carried out, such as cleaning and/or replacing heat exchangers, pipe parts, reactors, etc.

  • Determining the required activities, materials and duration for the execution of the work

  • Estimating the required budget

  • Reviewing drawings and documentation

  • Compile work packages (Status report, detailed scope, guidelines and work instructions, etc.)

  • Determine and detail of the scope with regard to lifting and hoisting activities and placing and removing rigging, scaffolding and materials for protection/routing

  • Performing administrative work such as handling invoices, ordering materials, concluding and updating work orders and associated documentation;

  • Draw up planning (both high level on milestones and detailed plans for specific activities)

  • Draw up basic risk analyses

  • Report (functionally) to the client’s Maintenance Manager

Your profile

You are a strong communicator and a committed colleague. Keeping an overview and organizing work is one of your talents. You always work from the customer's point of view and you make cost-efficient considerations. You have the insight to determine the right working method and decisions through different paths of reasoning. It would be useful if you have knowledge of security processes and CMMS systems such as SAP. At the very least, we expect you to be willing to acquire this knowledge and have:

  • A Completed Bachelor (or AD) degree (Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in a similar role

  • Experience with independently preparing and planning maintenance activities

  • Good command of the Dutch and English language is mandatory
