Position Description:

Ownership and responsibility for the end-to-end payroll processing and / or payroll vendor relationship management

  • Preparation and processing of monthly payroll runs, completing gross-to-net calculation on payroll engine / through payroll vendor

  • Ensuring all data is accurately compiled, reconciled and transmitted to payroll vendor according to payroll schedule on the agreed frequency

  • Processing of all types of payments and deductions, including wage loans, payroll adjustments, benefit adjustments, and special payments (bonus, gross-up, per diem, incentive, stock option etc.)

  • Investigation and correction of errors associated with the auditing of payroll data before the payroll cycle is finalized

  • Balancing and review of all payroll output and completing all controls and checks in accordance to local regulations, SOX guidelines and Flowserve’s global payroll procedures and best practices

  • Processing adjustments related to terminated employees, such as payments after leaving, recovery of advance payments/loans, special payment packages in case of redundancy etc.

  • Preparation and processing of manual, supplementary, and off-cycle/on-demand payments

  • Payslip generation, handling and distribution through payroll engine / payroll vendor

  • Managing money movements for salaries, statutory payments (income tax, social contributions ect.) and any other third party payments according to the deadlines defined in the payroll calendar

  • Tax processing and statutory reporting / filing according to local regulations

  • Liaising on a regular basis with other teams and vendors in cooperation to ensure actions and issues are followed through and resolved

  • Third party co-ordination, reporting and data transfer

  • Employee inquire and resolution co-ordination on payroll and benefit related matters through askHR

  • Tax year-end processing and filing according to the local statutory requirements

  • Employee year-end form generation, handing and distribution through payroll engine / payroll vendor

  • Agreeing on payroll schedules and calendars with payroll vendor in accordance with local regulations and Flowserve’s global payroll procedures and best practices

  • Benefit administration (healthcare, insurance, fringe benefits etc.) according to local rules

  • Creating, updating, and maintaining desktop procedures for all payroll, T&A and benefit processes in accordance with local legislative compliance, HR policies and Flowserve’s global payroll procedures and best practices, propose changes for improvement

  • Assisting in the testing of all system, tax updates, version upgrades and enhancements to the systems as needed

  • Acting as a back-up for other payroll operations within EMA region upon demand

Position Requirements:

Ability to complete root cause analysis, research and solve outstanding issues in a timely fashion

  • Strong customer service skills with employees even in conflict and complaint situations

  • Ability to plan, organize and schedule duties to meet payroll processing deadlines

  • Ability to process a high volume of detailed work and meet strict production deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and diligently under pressure with minimal supervision

  • Has latitude to interpret broad instructions

  • Performs work that is complex and varied, collects and evaluates information to determine the best course of actions, identifies solution and / or escalates to the appropriate level

  • Flexibility in regards to working patterns in payroll peak periods

  • Ability to apply fundamental knowledge of functional concepts and prior experience

  • Ability to support and participate in the global projects related to field and be involved in process improvement and reengineering

  • Regularly makes decisions within authorized parameters, originality and ingenuity is often required

  • Ability to design and maintain end-to-end processes, documentation

  • Ability to conduct training to others at lower levels on the team upon demand

  • Ability to maintain relationship with payroll and other third party vendors

  • Demonstrates professional behavior during work at all times

Preferences:

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French

  • Knowledge of local French payroll legislation

  • Knowledge of the payroll legislation of another European country in a plus

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills; high attention to detail

  • Excellent research and problem solving skills; ability to complete root cause analysis

  • Great customer service skills with employees even in conflict and complaint situation

  • Ability to plan, organize and schedule duties to meet payroll processing deadlines

  • Ability to process a high volume of detailed work in a short time frame and meet strict production deadlines

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and work diligently under pressure

  • Ability to identify possible issues in a timely manner and escalate to the right resource
