Role Summary:

Use Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineering tools, carry out Analysis, and prepare Analysis Reports. This position is responsible for supporting the design of hydraulic components and performing Computational Fluid Dynamics for pump and valve products. This position will also require working on multiple projects related to product development and customer submittals. The individual is required to coordinate with business unit engineers to meet overall quality and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer requirements and perform CFD analysis to validate the centrifugal pump and valve hydraulic design.

  • Provide detailed reports with good interpretation of CFD results and engineering judgment.

  • Support development projects in the hydraulic design of new pumps and valves using CFD. Support performance improvement and hydraulic re-rating projects.

  • Strong fundamentals in fluid dynamics with working experience in ANSYS CFX/Fluent.

  • Carry out Fluid Structural Interface (FSI) analysis.

  • Performs work that is varied and complex, under minimal supervision.

  • Consistently applies knowledge of functional concepts and prior experience to work assignments.

  • Closely interact with customer or job coordinator, and gather all relevant information for each assignment.

  • Conduct specification review to identify alternate designs and close reference documents, communicate to customer or job coordinator if any discrepancy in the specification, and references.

  • Suggest the best possible solutions in consultation with the team. Follow established engineering standards and procedures to produce consistent and reliable results.

  • Refer to international standards, project specifications, design and Analysis practices approved by the design authority.

Requirements:

  • ·Mechanical or Aero Engineering Graduate with 5-7 years or master’s with 3-5 years’ experience respectively.

  • At least 3 to 5 years experience in CFD Analysis. Know Heat Transfer basics and CFD analysis.

  • CFD Analysis and Fluid Mechanics knowledge. Strong fundamentals of mechanical engineering. Good knowledge of relevant equations. Excellent analytical and creative skills.

  • Good knowledge of automation using ANSYS ACT module using programming languages.

  • Awareness of relevant International standards such as ASME, ANSI, and API. Good handling and knowledge of CAD and simulation tools.

  • Capable of handling simple FEA simulations and thermal calculations.

  • Excellent engineering, verbal, and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle changing priorities and multiple tasks, make decisions and work independently.

  • Good computer skills including general Microsoft applications, e-mail, and Excel worksheets.
