The Accounts Payable T&E Auditor will be an AP accountant based in Debrecen, Hungary and be part of the start-up of a Shared Service Center. This position receives, analyzes and processes for payment internal FLS T&E expense reports after the employee submits summary and accompanying receipts to support request for reimbursement. The AP T&E Auditor provides financial, administrative and clerical support by assuring reports are completed correctly, in compliance with FLS T&E policy and are accurately reflected in the general ledger of legacy site financial records. Specific tasks include but are not limited to unplanned and specific audits of varied expense reports and assuring reimbursements for these are made to the correct FLS associate in timely manner per agreed upon and communicated schedule. Approvals for payments to be received per FLS delegation of authority policy. Particular attention to assuring all employees follow the FLS T&E policy is key.

Position Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assure all T&E expense reports qualify for reimbursement per the FLS T&E policy. As exceptions to the policy occur, assure sensitive yet clear and candid communication to impacted employee is timely.

  • Identifies inconsistencies in daily data interface, corrects the inconsistency or escalates the problem to the next level

  • Respond to FLS internal traveler and other associate requests and inquiries within 48 hours of receipt assuming 5-day business week.

  • Assist in AP related month end closing tasks in support of a timely and accurate AP financial record in FLS general ledger

  • Work cross-functionally with all associates submitting expense reports and auditors to assure end-to-end processes are effective within the assigned regions or sites and within FLS designed global P2P processes.

  • Assure accuracy of ledger account coding through rigorous training, follow-up and understanding of the available information necessary to assure complete and accurate processing.

  • Maintain a functional and healthy relationship with FLS associates to assure a healthy service level.

  • Ensure compliance with FLS policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as defined by FLS (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within FLS ethical code of business conduct. Demonstrate thorough understanding of financial controls for local and SOX requirements.


Skills and Knowledge required:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or studies in progress) in accounting, finance and business or similar

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in accounting or auditing platform preferably having experience with varied payment methods of large, multi-national companies

  • Strong work ethic, well organized, detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and self-starter

  • Proven experience working in a financial control environment or at a multi-national company and working with colleagues internationally

  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, multi-tasking skills, tolerance of monotony, accuracy

  • Good English language skill is a must. Additional language skills a significant plus Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing required

  • Ability to build strong relationships and to work collaboratively with interpersonal skills necessary for team success

  • Good technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP S/4 Hana and/or Oracle is an advantage

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; analytical thinking necessary to systematically break down, determine root causes and suggest improvements

  • Strong continuous improvement mentality while continually striving to instill this same behavior in all shared service employees
