The Inventory/Customer Support position will be responsible for providing aftermarket sales/services support to our sales force and customers to insure continuing success of the parts and services business. Duties include but are not limited to interpreting Bill of Materials (BOM), providing product quotes and pricing, order entry and tracking. Prior customer service experience in a business-to-business or manufacturing role is required. Must be a self-starter, responsible, organized, and demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta.

  • Manage inventory levels for a defined group of stock codes and/or consumables to achieve optimal availability at minimum cost to the business

  • Make decisions regarding potentially obsolete, excess and vendor returnable inventory based on inputs from the business and analysis using inventory management system tools

  • Ensure processes are in place to monitor and improve inventory accuracy and warehouse service level performance for continued customer satisfaction

  • Lead and participate in inventory and warehousing projects designed to improve inventory performance; utilize subject matter expertise to make recommendations on inventory management and warehouse best practices

  • Communicate and collaborate with end users and maintenance in evaluating stock level change needs

  • Collect data using a computerized system, which allows them to track various aspects of inventory.

  • Calculate products and parts orders, to ensure that the proper amount of inventory is distributed at the right time.

  • Tray track defective pieces of inventory, rates of return, rates of purchase, and rates of accuracy, to maintain and improve quality control inventory control.

  • Respond to sales inquiries, filing reports, managing employees, and providing creative solutions to discrepancies.

  • Participate in the development of SMART Accountabilities, Objectives and Development Plans.

  • Ensure work, and the work of others is performed safely by actively maintaining a safe work environment and abiding by the safety policies and rules at all FLS and Customer sites.

  • Embrace and drive a CIP culture and participate in improvement projects.

  • Work with the End User sales team in Canada to actively pursue new seal repair/upgrade opportunities.

  • Participate in ongoing seal repair/applicable upgrade training.

  • Understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures

  • Communicate with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Position Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of customer service experience in a business-to-business or manufacturing role is required

  • 0-2 years of experience with seals, pumps, and related systems

  • Must have at least a High School Diploma. Post-secondary degree or certification preferred, or equivalent work experience in a business to business, manufacturing or technical environment with strong emphasis on prior customer service experience

  • General understanding of inventory control concepts

  • Basic math skills are required

  • Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong verbal communications skills and must be fluent in English

  • Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as MS Word and MS Excel and ability to quickly learn in-house applications/systems that support this role

  • Superior communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Must be detail oriented, have good problem-solving skills and be able to organize and prioritize responsibilities.

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

  • Location requires mobility in an office environment

  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk

  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required

  • Must have the ability to travel into the US.

Preferences:

  • Ability to interpret drawings is highly preferred
