We are currently looking for a Sales Engineer to cover Western Canada (Alberta/ Saskatchewan)

  • Promote the sale of Flowserve Controls Sector's control valve products and Argus Ball Valve products in assigned region with a major focus in Alberta.

  • Aggressively grow our customer base and drive bookings rate growth in the assigned region.

  • Motivate, train, maintain and manage the sales focus of the assigned manufacturers’ representative in the respective geographic region. Region will include Alberta and Saskatchewan. This position is located in Edmonton, Alberta and will work from our QRC (Quick Response Center) in Edmonton.

  • Estimated travel approximately 35%.

  • Management of respective manufacturer’s representative network includes implementation of selling strategies / initiatives and joint customer visits

  • Drive project pursuit, provide project tracking / management and assistance in the negotiations of purchase order agreements

  • Develop a keen understanding of Flowserve’s control valve products and Argus Ball Valve products and the operations which produce them to enhance selling efforts

  • Develop collaborative relationships with respective sales and operations management teams to more effectively coordinate bookings growth and resolve issues

  • Maintain and develop relationships with key customers / trade organizations and representative network in order to establish, understand and solidify purchase agreements, customer alliances and market trends.

  • Collaborate with Flowserve’s Pump, Mechanical Seal and other valve product lines’ sales management teams to further enhance pursuit of overall bookings / project pursuit

  • Provide accurate and timely updates / reports of actual and forecast market activity for area of responsibility

  • Comply with Corporate goals, objectives and policies.

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years sales experience in the control valve or process related industry

  • Proven project management experience with successful history of completion

  • Knowledge and experience serving the variety of markets involved in the process control industries

  • Self – motivated, detail oriented and driven to achieve assigned goals

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Preferences:

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Petroleum or related degree preferred

  • 2+ years experience in sales management role including management of reps and/or distributors a major plus

  • Related Successful Sales Experience to the process control industries including in the defined geographic territory also a plus

  • Previous leadership experience is preferred

  • Strong technical background to include a working knowledge of valve fundamentals, valves systems is considered a plus.

  • Experience in Valve Sales is an advantage
