Role Summary:

In this all-round function you will make repair pumps from start to finish. You work on (centrifugal) pumps, large cooling water pumps and compressors that show signs of wear, are broken or need an upgrade. There is a large variation in pumps you will work on and every job has something special. Whether it is a small pump, but extremely complex due to its unique application or a pump as long as a truck, you will encounter it all. Small pumps you handle independently and when it gets bigger, you work in a team.

You will handle 100 to 150 pumps and other parts every year at Flowserve. You are a go-getter who knows everything about pumps or a beginner who will become an all-rounder step by step. Your jobs naturally start with disassembling, cleaning and assessing the parts that need to be repaired or replaced. If your advice is to repair, you draw up a repair advice. As soon as all parts are available or have been repaired, you ensure that the pump is assembled and tested so that the pump can be transported to the customer within the set deadline, budget and with the right quality.

Your role

  • Disassembling pumps in order to assess the parts whether they can be repaired or replaced.

  • Using different types of precision measuring equipment to map the dimensions of parts and components.

  • and repair advice, especially for all common types of pumps, whereby you achieve consistent quality within the specified inspection time.

  • Convert specific customer questions into realistic repair proposals

  • Explaining inspection reports during inspection meetings, both internally and at meetings Independently prepare inspection reports where customers are present.

  • Collaborate with various production departments such as Assembly, Welding & Machining, Engineering, Project Management and Planning / Work Preparation.

Your profile:

Do complete repairs or upgrades of pumps from start to finish. It should come as no surprise that in this position you need a lot of knowledge of pumps (in the long run). Do you have a strong foundation of mechanical knowledge, and do you want to master your pumps? We will take on that challenge together with you! You are a strong communicator, so talking to our customers in the workshop if is not an issue for you. It would be useful if you are skilled in drawing up inspection reports and/or speak German, but that is not a hard requirement. You do have:

  • Basic knowledge of pumps or other rotating equipment

  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair, including knowledge of material types / specifications / repair methods / machining and welding methods and NDT investigations, wall thickness and hardness measurements and PT control

  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.

  • Prepared to ensure that we meet our deadlines, which can sometimes be in the evening or in the weekend.

  • Knowledge is important, but we think it is even more important that you are a craftsman (or woman) in heart and soul.
