Position Description:

The role of this manager will be to drive the responsiveness of their assigned Commercial Operations team to enable us to grow both our FCO and Flowserve bookings overall. This position will be responsible for building a highly responsive and customer driven group. The group will be focused on providing our Flowserve sales organization, customers, distributors and 3 rd party representative channel partners the most technically sound and competitive quotation solutions for all pertinent inquiries in addition to transferring to our operations complete and correct order entry files for execution.

Position Requirements:

  • Drive timely responsiveness to all viable quotation opportunities. This includes tracking the response time of the Commercial Operations team based on agreed upon standards.

  • Manage the review of all valve and actuation orders for completeness and correctness and assist in resolving any issues to insure proper order entry.

  • Proper order entry to include clean Order Transfer files that are provided to Order Management in the agreed upon time frame

  • Coordinate and approve commercial terms of purchase orders and/or contracts including SAP generation and approval along with the resolution of any respective terms and conditions issues, based on Flowserve guidelines

  • Implement and oversee a continual training program to insure team members are properly applying their technical expertise and commercial knowledge during quotation preparation.

  • Are updated on our techniques for utilizing any of the respective configurators / sizing and selection tools required for proposal generation

  • Are learning to apply our best practices in sizing, selecting and quoting the best suited Flowserve FCO products

  • Insure applicable industry standards are applied correctly

  • Any schools conducted at the operation are well coordinated, informative and beneficial to all attendees (Flowserve direct or 3 rd party sales personnel)

  • Team Members are being developed to continuously enhance and improve performance

  • Work with sales group and operations management to provide accurate, timely and detailed bookings reports and project tracking updates as assigned by Commercial Operations director

  • Work closely and develop strong business relationships with the key members of our operations, sales and engineering management teams to help drive the success of our FCO organization

  • Manage and assist in developing proper quotation guidelines with respect to any applicable contracts, lead times, documentation packages and/or Inspection and Testing Plans. This should be done in accordance with any Global Commercial Operations policies and guidelines.

  • Continually analyze and track the results of our pricing and quotation practices including the generation of win / loss quotation hit rates to enhance our effectiveness

  • Track, monitor, and review the performance of your individual direct reports through our performance management review process including assigning measurable goals and focused accountabilities. Monitor the progress for each team member throughout the year per our HR guidelines and processes.

  • Moderate and attend meetings and conference calls and provide activity updates and reports as assigned by Commercial Operations Director

  • Work closely with our outside sales organization to enhance our communication, project pursuit, collaboration and overall selling efforts

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with fellow CO management staff members both regionally and globally to assist in better leveraging our FCO organization’s entire portfolio of products and capabilities to improve our bookings pursuit and quotation efforts.

  • Comply with Flowserve goals, objectives and policies and manage your respective team members to adhere to the same standards


  • 3 years + of successful inside /outside sales experience with Flowserve FCO product portfolio and / or similar product lines in the marketplace

  • 5 years + of successful inside /outside sales experience with any flow solution products serving the process control industries

  • Any successful sales management experience within Flowserve a plus
