Flowserve is looking for an experienced repair mechanic to work on all processes related to disassembly and assembly of mechanical seals and related equipment.

  • Able to work alone and troubleshoot mechanical issues

  • New and repaired seal assembly, seal leak and pneumatic testing

  • Experience in disassembly, inspection, re-assembly and testing of repaired Seals products in a rapid response, "quick ship" environment.

  • Read and follow accurately all routers, instructions, checklists and engineering drawings or blueprints during all processes

  • Inspect Seals and equipment, checking dimensions of all critical components.

  • Ensure components are clean and free from foreign material and replaces and repairs worn parts in seal assemblies

  • Supplied standards.

  • Complete accurate, thorough inspection documentation, may include including photos and written descriptions of the wear and condition of components. Submit documentation for quotation.

  • Explain and discuss as needed the condition of all critical components of the seal or equipment

  • Collaborate with others, sharing information and resolving problems with others in the shop, supervisors, sales engineers, buyers, and planners.

  • Self-verify workmanship. Inspect all components for critical dimensions fits and run-outs.

  • Complete accurate, thorough assembly documentation, including inspection records, photos, and customer-specific forms.

  • Tag, and prep the seal for shipment to the customer.

  • Act in a way that that encourages teambuilding, decision-making, problem solving, and continuous improvements.

  • Make regular process improvement suggestions; implement improvements after approval from manager.

  • Dismantle, clean, inspect, grinding, under filing, cleaning, sandblasting and assemble seals and equipment following all safety requirements and meeting tight deadlines

  • Complete a final inspection on all parts, stamp heat codes and part numbers in both the shop and Field

  • Work to achieve company production goals on time delivery objectives

  • Be willing to take Drug & Alcohol tests regularity to be able to access client sites as needed

  • Be clean shaven for fit testing as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Mechanically inclined with a minimum of 0-5 years of work experience in an industrial setting, specific experience in seals highly desired

  • Follow all safety requirements and meeting tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable work ethic with a personal commitment to quality workmanship

  • Show an attention to detail, a respect for processes & instructions customer-service, and be results-oriented mindset at all times

  • Standing for long times required, full range of movement required, frequent lifting with lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice

  • Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy. Complete all Pure Safety and other safety training as required.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace through proper housekeeping, use tools and equipment safety and complying with Flowserve applicable Safety, Health, and Environment standards, policy, rules and procedures.

  • Adhere to and maintain quality work practices, qualifications, and procedures

  • Must be willing to assist others on the team in the performance of their duties and willing to be cross trained in all areas of manufacturing

  • Basic computer skills - Word / Excel

  • Ability to travel to the US

Preferences:

  • Industrial Equipment Installation, commissioning and start up, and plant maintenance exposure would be an asset

  • Forklift certification desirable

  • Rigging experience is an asset.

  • Experienced in using precision measuring instruments, such as Micrometers, Veneers, Bore Gauges, Pressure Gauges, Meters, Dial Indicators, Rulers and Depth Gauges
